Obituary

Phyllis L.  Pickering, age 84, of Troy, Ohio passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 in Koester Pavilion.

Phyllis was born on September 25, 1937 in Miami County.  She was a daughter of the late Oscar J. and Ruby (Vogler) Pearson.

Phyllis is survived by four children:  Christine (Richard) Brock of Alamosa, Colorado, Linda James of Kansas City, Missouri, Douglas (Patricia) Pickering of Kansas City, Kansas and John Pickering of Kansas City, Missouri.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.  Additional survivors include two brothers, Jerry (Linda) Pearson of Alabama, Roger (Ineke) Pearson of Mississippi, a sister in law Linda Pearson of St. Paris, Ohio and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A brother Byron Pearson and a sister Marjorie Boze preceded her in death.

Phyllis was a 1955 graduate of Brown Township High School.  She was formerly employed as a custodian at the Upper Valley JVS, Piqua, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Fletcher, Ohio with Pastor Jeremy Spence of the Saint Paris First Baptist Church presiding.  Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.  There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.
