Merle Jean (Hyatt) Ullery, 88, of St. Paris, OH passed away at home on Monday, August 30, 2021. Merle was born to Elbert and Bower (Willis) Hyatt in Blackwater, VA on March 15, 1933. A long-time resident of Christiansburg, OH, she graduated in 1952 from Christiansburg-Jackson School and she was engaged in community service at the Community Park and United Methodist Church. Merle was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Honeycreek Cemetery Association for many years, and babysat many children from the community over several decades.
Merle is survived by her children, Deborah Ullery, Sharon (Kenneth) Elleman, Wesley Ullery, and Jennifer (Paul) Yates, her grandchildren, Matthew Elleman, Jeremy Elleman, Chloe Yates, and Brendan Yates and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bernie, son Wayne Ullery, her mother, father, and eight siblings – Harold, Bill, Paul, Jim, Ronnie, Elmo, Mildred and Elma.
Memorial services will be held graveside at Upper Honey Creek Cemetery, S. Elm Tree Rd., St. Paris, Ohio on Saturday September 18th at 11 o’clock, with arrangements made with Atkins-Shively Funeral Home.
