Kathleen Marie Wilson, age 69 of St Paris, Ohio passed away from severe COPD on July 17, 2022 at 7:30 pm. Being a believer and follower of Jesus Christ, she has gone to her heavenly home.
Kathy was born in Troy, Ohio on April 26, 1953 to the late Marvel and Ruth (Skinner) Henderson. She married Kermit Wilson on April 12, 1980 and together they raised their two sons. Kathy is survived by her loving husband Kermit, sons John (Gwen) Marcum of Springfield, Justin (Dru) Wilson of Urbana and grandchildren Josh Marcum, Ellie Marcum, Jordan Wilson and Cole Click. She is also survived by a sister Joyce Lingo and brother, Floyd Henderson.
Kathy graduated from Troy High School and Clark State Community College for photography. She was also a graduate of Ringling Brothers/Barnum and Bailey School of Clowning. She worked for A.O. Smith, Infotel Computer Sales and Honda of America.
Kathy had a great sense of humor and an infectious smile that no one could ignore. She loved nature, people and most of all her family. Kathy enjoyed working in her many beautiful flowerbeds around her home and together they enjoyed traveling to Square Dancing events being members of the Wright Patters, Trojan Squares and Concord Clover Leaf Clubs.
Kathy always had a heart for helping others. She loved serving the Lord with her clowning ministry and the Kairos ministry at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. There, Kathy started a Life Recovery Bible Study and continued leading until her health prevented her from doing so. Kathy struggled with addiction and became a member of AA. As she overcame her own addiction she helped others with understanding and love as a sponsor. Kathy was a member of Lena Baptist Church where she enjoyed Sunday School and VBS.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday July 22, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St, St. Paris, Ohio with Pastor Nate Wilcoxen presiding. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, St. Paris, Ohio
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the funeral home.
