Obituary

John Scott “Scotty” Robertson, age 75, of Troy passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 in his residence. 

Born on August 23, 1945 in Harlan, KY, Scotty was a son of the late William Bryan and Anna Lucille (Howard) Robertson.

He is survived by his companion of 36 years, Norma Carroll, her children Jim (Melanie Burke) Carroll, Scott (Ashley) Carroll, and Cara Carroll Schatz all of Troy.  He was a loving grandfather to their twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Scotty is also survived by a sister, Mary (Chuck) Schell of Pittsburg, PA.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Joanne, and two brothers, Bill and Gene.

Scotty was a 1964 graduate of Troy High School.  He served in the U.S. Army from Oct 18, 1966 to October 17, 1968 during the Vietnam War.

Scotty loved music and playing the drums.  He worked as a bartender most of his life; currently at the Troy Fish and Game Club.  He was also a member of the Troy VFW Post.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

A celebration of Scotty’s life will be held at a later date.
