We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Suber-Shively Funeral Home
John D. Davis, age 70, of Troy, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.
John was born to William and Catherine Davis on March 25, 1952. John is survived by his loving wife of twenty-four years, Carol Morgan-Davis and her five children; Scott Morgan, Chris (Tammy) Morgan, Spencer (Jessica) Morgan, Ashley (Todd) Demmitt, and Lyndsay (Brandon) Lair.
He was lovingly known as “Papaw John” to nine grandchildren, Jakob, Evan, Ashton, Baylen, Rohen, Anysten, Tayler, Harper, and Kade.
John is also survived by his three children, Chad and Jeff Davis, Jennifer Kemmer, a grandson Anden, and two brothers, Mike and Jerry Davis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William (Bill) Davis.
John worked at Collins/Raytheon (Goodrich) for nearly thirty-two years and enjoyed his job and co-workers greatly. He retired in 2020. John was a hard worker, a talented machinist and carpenter, and a loving man. He loved his dog, Savvy Jo, and she will miss running into his room to help when he rang his bell. John fought a brave fight and was so strong. He did things his own way and now deserves his peace in Heaven. In his last days, John mentioned watching the Blue Angels fly with his brother Bill, and we hope he is doing just that; as well as playing with his beloved dogs, Maggie, Shelby, and Rylee.
A special heartfelt thank you to his Hospice nurse, Jenni, and several staff members at Hospice that touched our lives and hearts making John’s journey more peaceful. This meant the world to John and Carol. His wife, stepdaughters, and Jenni were his favorite nurses.
John was a member of the Troy Fish and Game and Troy Amvets #88. He was also a 32nd degree Mason. He enjoyed his long early morning drives in the country, sitting on his porch, watching sports channels, and playing solitaire. He was loved and cared for dearly and will be greatly missed.
Per John’s wishes, there will be no services and cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Miami County in his remembrance.
