Helen E. (Landes) Davis, age 84 of Fletcher, loving wife and mother of four children passed away on March 28, 2021 at 6:49 p.m. in her residence.
Helen was born on June 16, 1936 in Piqua, Ohio, a daughter of the late Eugene Thomas and Eleanor May (Woods) Landes. In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Landes and a sister Patricia Wenrick.
She worked as a nurse’s aid at the Piqua Memorial Hospital until she married Thomas Davis on August 5, 1955. He survives. Together they raised four children, they were loving grandparents to eight grandchildren, one step grandson, and four great grandchildren: Bruce (Donna) Davis and their family Liz and Lee Wiegand, Kaden and Ember, and Phillip and Nikki Davis; Becky and Tim Coppock and their family, Eli and Marshall Mack, Abby Coppock and Aaron Coppock; Barb Igoe and her family Lucy and Don Jackson and Tajae, and Ross Igoe; and Bob and Becky Davis and their family, Hannah and Caleb Johnson and Clayton, and Lane Davis. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Parker of Franklin, Ohio.
Helen had a passion for a spiritual life. She believed in God. Her love for God led her to live a life the way she though God wanted. She loved sewing, creating crafts with her grandchildren, and any new gadget that came about. She is best known for her gift of “giving the shirt off her back” if that is what was needed.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main Street, Fletcher, Ohio with Reverend Bonita Ritchie of the Tipp City United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Social distancing and masks are recommended.
