Clarence “Ed” Salyers, age 75, of Urbana passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in the Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana.
Born on April 3, 1946 in Paintsville, KY, Ed was a son of the late Clarence and Ocie (Adams) Salyers.
Ed retired from Scotts Lawn in Marysville where he was head of the maintenance department. He also served his country in the US Army. Ed also had his own business, J & V Spouting working in Champaign County and surrounding areas.
He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Vicky L. (Kite) Salyers, his daughters, Jeanie Salyers, Jannie Marshall, sons, Tom (Robin) Salyers, Robert W. Salyers, Perry (Loretta) Vernon, Scott (Bev) Vernon, his brother, Gene (Karen) Salyers, and his sister, Joyce D. Salyers. Other survivors include nine grandchildren; Nikk (Steve) Wilson, Tiffany Salyers, Zachary Vernon, Hillary E. Vernon, Aron Gallaway, Wesley (Brandi) Marshall, Sid and Breanna Marshall, Colt Salyers and numerous great grandchildren; Zaylor, Hayden & Markus Rogan, Toby & Riley Marshall, Felix Paulsgrove, Myles Wilson, and Oaklyn Zerkle
Ed was known for his hard work, humor, and willingness to help people.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield St, St. Paris, Ohio with Pastor Jacob Hayward and Pastor Fred Kensler presiding. Burial will follow in Nettlecreek Cemetery, St Rt 560, Urbana, Ohio 43078.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4:00 p.m to 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
