Charles (Chuck) H. Evans, 94, of St. Paris, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2021 at the home in which he married his wife of 70 years Elizabeth (Eaton). He was born July 1, 1926 in Rosewood, Ohio.
Chuck was a WWII veteran, serving in the Army in Austria and Germany from 1944 – 1946. He was employed by Wallace Tractor Co. Chuck loved John Deere tractors and for many years would bring parts home from Urbana and put them on the porch for farmers to pick up. He loved playing cards at the K of P Lodge and enjoyed sitting on the front porch.
Chuck was preceded in death by his son Kermit and his parents Jay and Elizabeth Evans.
Chuck is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his daughter-in-law Linda (Fred) Fullerton; his granddaughters Kelly (John) Wilson of Mechanicsburg, Ohio and Kristin (Travis) Freeman of Woodstock, GA; his great-grandchildren Emma, Elyse, and Eli Wilson and Isabella, Anna, Alexis, and Isaac Freeman. “Pap” as he was referred to by his grandkids and great-grandkids loved hearing about and attending their activities.
Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Arrangements are being handled by Atkins-Shively Funeral Home.
