Phyllis Ann Mitchell passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4th. Phyllis was the born September 14th, 1934 and was the daughter of Donald Zea and Edith Kress, both deceased. She also had a close relationship with her grandmother, Amanda Briggs, who also preceeded her in death. Her brother Dale, a veteran, and a daughter, Constance Lemmon preceded her in death. Phyllis had four daughters, Vicki L. Mitchell, Debbie (Jon) Barbee, Constance (Steve) Lemmon and Beverly K. Mitchell. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Phyllis worked for many years for Lucas Ledex until the company closed. She also worked at Zimmerman’s Jewelers. She was a homemaker for many years as well as a Blue Birds leader and Girl Scouts leader for her daughters. She was a life-long member of the ‘Cribs-to-Campus’ Mother’s club. Phyllis loved growing flowers in the flower beds around her house and also enjoyed the Memorial Day parade, which went by her house every year. She never missed a year sitting on her porch, watching the parade with her family. In her younger days, she loved to take her children and grandchildren on weekend trips, spending time with family.
